iPlant User Credential Synchronization

New BioExtract Server users have the option to register with the BioExtract Server. As a guest, researchers can browse, search for data, access the BioExtract Server’s public tools, and execute the public workflows. By registering, users have many more options available such as: save query results, add tools to their account, and create, modify, and share workflows with others. Functionality has been added to the BioExtract Server to allow users to register with their iPlant Collaborative id giving them access to their iPlant resources within the BioExtract Server.

To register with the BioExtract Server using your iPlant id:

1. Click on the "register" link in the upper right hand corner of the BioExtract Server screen. You will be presented with the "Create Account" interface.
2. Click the "Register iPlant Account" tab on the "Create Account" screen.
3. Enter your iPlant id, password, and email address.

Once your account has been created, your iPlant user id and password becomes your BioExtract Server user id and password.

To synchronize existing BioExtract Server user credentials with iPlant:

1. Click on the "manage account" link in the upper right hand corner of the BioExtract Server screen. You will be presented with the "Manage Account" interface.
2. Click the "Convert to iPlant Account" tab on the "Manage Account" screen.
3. Enter your iPlant id and password.
4. Click the "Convert Account" button.

Once you account has been converted to an iPlant Account, your iPlant user id and password becomes your BioExtract Server user id and password.
