Loading your own data into BioExtract Server tools
It's easy to input your own data files into an analytic tool. Here's how:
To input your own data files into an analytic tool:
- Click the Tools tab. In the Available Tools list, open the desired tool. As an example, click Similarity Search Tools and select blastn. The blastn form will open in the right panel.
- In the Input Data section near the top of the form, select Upload data saved on your computer, then click the Browse button.
- In the Open File dialog or File Upload dialog, find the desired file, then
click the Open button. The uploaded file name will display in the adjacent box.
- Complete the rest of the form according to your data and preferences, then execute the tool.
Other important information
- It is up to you to know what kind of input a tool needs to run properly.
For example, if a tool takes MSF format as input, then your
data file needs to be in this format type. If your data file is in
the wrong format, use the BioExtract Server's Format Conversion tool (in Available Tools > Edit
Tools) to convert your data file into the input format that the tool needs. Read How to convert between different file formats.
- If you want more information about a tool (including the kind of input
it needs and the type of output it gives), select it. The tool's form will
open in the right panel. Click the More Information link at the top of the form. A new window to tool help will open.
